1stSgt Nelson Kerr - Fair enough. History is a bell weather that must be part of the equation. Also consider the alternatives had the US not been a presence in the PI. Historical perspective yes... but this is 2016, the Chinese are flexing a military muscle the likes of which have not been seen since the Japanese expansion of WWII. The North Koreans are closing the range. So if the PI people are going to recall the imperialist occupation of the US they also need to recall the horrific occupation of Japan and consider their future aligned with China and by feat the PRNK as opposed to alignment with the US. Obama is not helping... let's hope the next administration can get us back on track.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - I think you are a bit over heated if not nieve in your analysis and historical perspective. Please keep in mind that the PEOPLE of the PI put this guy in place. And much like Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Syria this administration will blame America first rather than seek a solution that benefits America. The world is a tough neighborhood. Pull up your big boy pants, recognize what is going on all around us or you will be eating "Chinese" every night and going out to get "American..." metaphorically of course.
