Just get her to Captain's Mast and quit dragging this out. It's simple; she disobeyed a lawful order while in uniform. Anyone else who may have done this or something more damaging/heinous, has probably had a swifter time in the processing, sentencing and punishment. Why does she have to have an "investigation"? It's simple. Article 92.

Art 92 is correct, and I bet 134 will slide in there sometime. But if anything happens to her, I see a 1A dispute coming and this Sailor loosing more than her career. The Marine who was slammed for having religious phrases all over the place and was told to take them down knows that now. I'd support them IF they were not SM's. They would be free to say and do as they feel. In uniform? Awww hells naw. Take rank, clearance, and give her the appropriate discharge. You don't have to like it, you just have to DO it.

I can't see a 1A dispute coming out of this. You clearly sign away some portions of 1A when you enlist. At least I always thought you did?

SN Greg Wright - I did too, but to some they say you are to defend those rights, but you never gave them up. Goes against what I was taught as a young private. The Marine used it and lost. I see this going the same way.

What investigation? She clearly video recorded herself in uniform violating Navy Regulations. The Command has all the evidence it needs to produce UCMJ actions. Personally, I don't care about the color of her skin. What I do care about is that, again, SHE WAS IN UNIFORM when she did what she did.

PO1 (Join to see) - I mean, she has a right to counsel, but even a dumb lawyer would know that the only thing they could do is argue the severity of the punishment...........at least that is what I figure.

MSG (Join to see) - investigation makes sense. To the command team, should she decide to take it to court, the evidence is already there, and depending on which court martial is used, the penalties are way more severe than NLP could be. I do not think she thought this one all the way through (neither one), and will pay dearly for it.

MSG (Join to see) PO1 (Join to see) Investigation doesn't necessarily mean NCIS pulling witnesses into the interrogation room and the like. More than likely it's the standard assign an investigation officer from the command, get all the paperwork in order with statements of both the sailor and witness, CoC inputs, conduct a DRB/XOI, etc. All the stuff that gets done before any NJP, which a CO will not convene before all T's are crossed and I's dotted. "Launching an Investigation" sounds better on the home page of a news site though.

SCPO (Join to see) - You have a point, Chief. I wasn't trying to compare this matter with an assault case when I know there are many different aspects involved. I was comparing the time it has taken for this to have a end result when I've seen Sailors go through DRB/XOI/Mast a lot faster than this; even when it deals with an Article 92. I guess that I'm trying to figure out why it's taking so long to issue the charge when evidence clearly presents itself. Maybe it's the way the media is taking this whole situation out of control and yet the command is doing what they need to do.
Also her FB posts were comments from other people and one particular person who kept defending her (I think she's deleted her FB page though).
