Looks like it would be hoot to fire at targets like a mortar.

We fired rifle grenades like crew served mortars, with the butt on the ground and a foot on the sling with yardage marks on the sling. The man firing the rifle would look to the rear to protect the eyes from the back blast while the man directing the fire would tell the shooter to move the muzzle left or right to align with the target. It was surprising how accurate it could be.

CSM Richard StCyr - It is isn't it? I may have to save up some money. It looks like something that would totally fun to do.

SGT (Join to see), how about bags of flour? They would mark the target and wash away in the next rain.

SGT (Join to see) - this toy also has a grappling hook round. I thought that was pretty cool too.

SFC Mark Merino - I saw that. I forgot about it too. It might come in handy for mountain climbers, or if I was out late and needed to sneak into my house, and sleep in the upstairs bedroom.

Instead of the great old time hook used by stage managers, the hook can be used to grab that guy that is dating your daughter, to haul him off of your porch!

Look at that! A less than lethal device for the police to use against the bad guys. Whack a shitbird with a pop can center mass.

CSM Richard StCyr - I always heard bad things from vets who were there for basic. They didn't talk about the bars, just the base.

SGT (Join to see) - It sucked bad for a while and was pretty run down. The Corps is finishing up a huge series of refurbishment and new construction projects. Nearly all the old barracks have been refurbished and the starship style barracks are completed for each BCT/ OSUT Brigade. Currently there is a large project underway building new barracks for the AIT Soldiers and the joint service, many of whom are still in 1970s era barracks. Balfour Beatty also completed renovation of 1108 family housing units within the last couple years as well as the new one plus one troop barracks for permanent party Soldiers. Huge difference from when I came through for OSUT / BNCOC in the 80s.
