We've still got this type of fraud through elected officials today. For example we spend far more than any other country on defense but that money never seems to get to the VA. Instead we build tanks that the military says they don't want. I don't mind the jobs people get as a result but since most of that money goes to executives, which in turn financially support keeping those representatives in office, I'm not a big fan. A nice corrupt money mill that mostly benefits some people at the top.

Keep in mind over half of the budget is gone for defense each year strictly for health care. I could give you current Stas if you wish but in 2010 we were at 48% of the DOD spending was on Healthcare alone. That was before the services divided their shares.

Maj Marty Hogan - Interesting, I have a hard time finding figures that break down in an easily consumable way where the defense budget is going. I'm probably not looking in the right spot.
