And now, a hot button issue:
Why should marijuana still be considered a Schedule I narcotic when it does have proven medical applications and is not nearly on the same level as cocaine or heroine? Additionally, citing the success of marijuana legalization in Colorado, Washington State, and soon Alaska and (hopefully) Ohio, is it time for the federal government to make that change and "cash in" on this very lucrative product?

Reason is US Government. The last "Official" study they did was in the era of 1940-1960. They even produced a movie that shows how Marijuana causes teens to become "wolf-like" sex fiends. They can NOT do another study because that would prove that their "War on Drugs" was a tremendous waste of Taxpayer money and the imprisonment of people using Marijuana was wrong.
The FDA (remember the guys that brought you the approved Phen-Phen [sp?]) says there is no medical use for Marijuana (they ignore Doctors and Scientist like the plague) past or present. They refuse to look at the various "prescribed" uses now or research for the future. This is OUR government in operation.
My only suggestion: VOTE. If you do NOT vote, you have very little right to say anything about politics, and unfortunately, most of our lives are governed by politics.

I'm with Mick. This is Long Overdue. Having used it as a Teenager I am well aware of it's Medicinal Value. The Propaganda that was used to make it Illegal was Ridiculous.

When society brings things out in the open that should not be seen as normal by children, Children grow up thinking it is OK.
I realize, herb helps some folks with medical conditions. But, there sure appears to be a lot of folks with certain medical conditions.
Now, if you will excuse me, my back pain is acting up. How far is it to CO?
