Nice little list that has been put together. I especially like point 4. There are some that allow their service time to identify themselves with, such as their terminal rank. I, for one, am humble that I have made it this far, and think about how temporary the military is. Frankly, I look forward to giving up responsibility and allowing myself to be a worker bee once again. I would truly become the ultimate shirker!

Thanks for sharing SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL The seven points. I have added a couple comments in brackets.
1. Welcome home.
2. Be kind to people when you come home.
3. You’ve got a lot to offer, so keep serving and find a way to lead.
4. Be a veteran.
5. Be more than a veteran. [I concur being proud of your service is great]
6. Be careful with your benefits. [I would not concur that VA system is "designed to encourage you to think of yourself as disabled." The VA that I am familiar with treats disabled veterans and their spouses with dignity and respect as military veterans -n nothing more, nothing less.]
7. Have fun and enjoy what you fought for.
