I'm going to post the same thing that I posted in the other thread that's addressing this topic. It bears repeating... What a crock. Didn't we go through the same thing with Sarah Palin and the "bulls eyes" on candidates? The Democrats are so desperate to draw attention away from their candidate's copious faults that they grasp at every word to vilify Trump just as they did Palin. Now, let's be honest. Trump has spent many years in the public eye, just as many as Hillary. While Hillary was piling up scandals, Trump scored none. He was never accused of racism, misogyny, or anything else until he became a candidate. Even his wife is under attack. Is it any wonder that it's so hard to get decent people to run for office? Personally, I hope there aren't many on RP hiding in a corner, sucking on their thumbs and whining about those nasty things Trump has said, while Hillary skates. You go right ahead and elect Hillary and kiss the real America goodbye.

I understand where you're coming from regarding Trump not being called what he is until the election. If we were to go back throughout history, Trump has flopped back and forth (so has Hillary). I personally don't think Trump is racist, at all. I do think he has however appeased to a certain demographic in this presidential election and may have brought out the wrong supporters.
So in this election we have two horrible candidates. I think most can agree on that. Trump supports want to keep Hillary out, and Hillary supporters want to keep Trump out. That's what it seems to look like. For me, one of the candidates actually benefit me, which is why I am giving my support to her. Putting aside the candidates, there are also the people. I tend to have more of a common interests with Hillary supporters so one can say, I am voting for my group of people.

SrA Edward Vong - To be fair, I don't think Hillary will survive long enough to do real damage. Her health is highly suspect. But if she does survive long enough to nominate two or three justices to the Supreme Court, she will put the final nail in the coffin of America. That's what I fear most. So you go right ahead and support her, then kiss America goodbye if she's elected. I don't see any such danger connected to Trump. All of the accusations of racism, misogyny, whatever are contrived.

I feel America is what people make it by voting. If Hillary wins, that means that's what America wants, if Trump wins, same deal. Honestly, if Gary Johnson makes it to the debates, and his polls and numbers go up, I may send my vote to him instead even though he does not benefit me at the slightest.

SrA Edward Vong - I can't disagree. We have precisely the govt we deserve. Sadly, I believe that Americans are pursuing a European ideal because they haven't been taught to appreciate what they have. I don't want to be a European. I don't idealize their history and culture the way many Americans do because I've studied history without the benefit of Progressive propaganda. I love freedom. I don't want a nanny state looking out for my every need. I want to be left alone to rise or fall by my own devices.

Trumps words at worst were inciting violence (unlikely), but at best were MONUMENTALLY POORLY CHOSEN.
Taken in isolation, I would give him the benefit of the doubt that it was about mobilizing his base to vote. The problem is this is routine misbehavior for Trump. He is always hinting at violence or bad behavior. He throws out total bullshit conspiracy theories with the preface "People are saying" or "Many people are saying" or "I get asked a lot" and then throws something crazy out there.
So no, I don't give him the benefit of the doubt at all anymore. He is an angry, lying, crazy, conspiracy-theorist buffoon who will say anything to get attention and free publicity. I don't think he wants someone to go kill Hillary Clinton, but I think he knew exactly what he was doing by fanning the flames.

Yes, I agree with you that Trump's words were very poorly chosen. I'm not necessarily against Donald Trump perse, I don't think he'd be a good president that's for sure. I'm anti-Trump supporters more than anti-Trump. (Not all Trump supporters are bad, some are actually close friends of mine with a different view on the world)

I didn't perceive any threat of violence in his comments. Democrats own the media, and clearly their strategy is to try and sink Trump right now well ahead of election day. Since the convention ended its been flurry of ridiculous story after ridiculous story. For example: the Democrats smeared the Benghazi mom for her comments at the Republican National Convention and there was silence on that, respond to the Khan's DNC remarks and all hell breaks loose. There's a lot of double standards here.
