I would not make a sweeping generalization out millennial military service members SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. That generation of service members, like all previous one,s tends to be more heavily weighted with rural and urban people. Certainly these ‘millennials’ are much more comfortable around technology than many members of previous generations.
However I would not consider them soft by any means - unless that is a reference to their software skills :-)

My son is a millennial (born 1997) and was figuring out how to change the CD in the computer at age 3. However, he thinks like the rest of us old folk and despises how "kids" of his generation think and act. Then again, that wasn't a big surprise to me, as he (thankfully) takes after the paternal side of the family.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - My youngest son is turning 26 this month. Each generation seems to be adept at the technology they grow up with.
When I was young, TV was relatively new for most Americans. Then again, I was a senior Captain when the PC came of age and became familiar with DOS, and basic functionality as it came of age.

LTC Stephen F. - Sir: My first mobile device was a pager at age 27. My first mobile phone was a Radio Shack "Bag Phone." I am constantly befuddled by the younger generation's fixation with and addiction to their smartphones (that seem to make people dumber). I grew up with landlines and payphones. TV for me was a 13 channel dial, with 2 of those channels being electronic fuzz. Cable TV was a new thing when I was a teen. If you had HBO, you were rich.
