As a trained and experienced ORSA I can recognize serious surveys and questionable surveys. This survey of "survey of more than 1,000 adults in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom" is amazing in scope and I am sure the questions were biased COL Mikel J. Burroughs.
From the few parameters of this study you mentioned it seems this "study" was not scientifically sound and most likely had an inherent bias
The summary of the finding alone is suspicious "A survey of more than 1,000 adults in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom found that roughly 40 percent believed more than half the 2.8 million veterans who have served since 2001 have a mental health condition."
The other study of veterans by the "George W. Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative" seems to have a tighter scope since it is focused on veterans attitudes toward other veterans.
FYI SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL you posted a related question to this study on July 25.

Then there are veterans like us here on RP who think that the general civilian (never served) population are the ones with the mental problems!

PO1 John Miller - I agree, the numbers for the General public for mental health issues is much closer to 100% and seems quite easy to prove!

I love it when civilians say, "Welcome to the real world!"

SP5 Christine Conley - Love it . I'd be the first to admit if I was crazy, on the other hand my wife would claim I was.
