Billions spent to fix VA didn't solve problems

The DVA did not get broken overnight and it is not going to get fixed overnight. Congress, as usual, thinks that the solution to everything is to throw more money at it. The reputable Veterans Service Organizations (VSO) are testifying almost daily before congress and offering recommendations and solutions, however, our congressional representatives need to learn to listen and to understand the changes needed and the fact that they are not going to see immediate results. Shutting down the DVA and sending everyone out to private practices for treatment would be a disaster and would hurt the veterans more when they find out that, as in MEDICARE, physicians are opting out and refusing to take patients because the government does not pay enough nor do they pay quickly enough. So, where do the veterans turn when they can not find a physician, clinic or hospital that is willing to treat them for what the government pays and they can not afford to pay the rates they would be charged to get treatment. The DVA would no longer exist except as some sort of insurance agency.
