President Nixon announces that no more draftees will be sent to Vietnam unless they volunteer for such duty. He also announced that a force of 10,000 troops would be withdrawn by September 1, which would leave a total of 39,000 in Vietnam.

SP5 Mark Kuzinski - I remember mine, too. RA13995###, and I only had it for a year until I was commissioned 05337###. Remembering is my test for Alzheimer's.

As I said above, we didn't get the word until much later (6+ months). Looks like it was selective application.
