I guess what is so frustrating for me is that the anti-gun lobby doesn't see the fact that those of us who chose to obey all existing gun laws would pick up a firearm and defend their sorry butts to the death in a situation like that.

OK we get it! How about removing your (collectively, the anti-gun politicians and their surrogates) hands from the keyboard, pick up the writing instruments of the founding period, and start handwriting with quill and parchment. Snail mail it to the editor of the interweb sites of your (collectively, the anti-gun politicians and their surrogates) choosing and ask them to post it for you (collectively, the anti-gun politicians and their surrogates). Keep in mind the editor may be triggered by your (collectively, the anti-gun politicians and their surrogates) content and only post a portion or edited version of your (collectively, the anti-gun politicians and their surrogates) prose.

I don't this analogy stands....virtually everyone had a gun back then. This would have been a shootout. On the other hand, I guess if they used the stereotypical Wild West as an example the message would be "everyone needs a gun"

Would've been an intense musket shootout.
