Thank you, My family was one of the what they call zoneians, Civilians that lived and worked in the canal Zone. My grandfather ran the transportation for the Zone back in the 50's, 60's and 70's and retired in 1980. My uncle was a dyke engineer, so I have strong ties to Panama and my dad was stationed there and is where I was created, not born like my Mother and My brother, we transferred to the US and then I came into the world. I was able to go back on a civil Humanitarian mission in 2008 and traveled the Indian islands prepping security and jobs for Engineer and Medical missions. We did not get to kick the hole mission off as the task force was recalled to go to Haiti for Hurricane recovery operations or a DR (Disaster Recovery) mission as we call them.

I think the Canal Zone would be a wonderful place to hang out other than the Political Upheavals

Yep, my mom loved and goes back from time to time.. I don't remember much, I did remember some of the bases that are now industrial complexes. The Air Force base they use for local flights to the Islands and let me tell you some of that was questionable. I have some stories about traveling around down there. We used local assets to blend in before the task force moved arrived.
