Obama Endorses Hillary, Immediately Meets With Attorney General Loretta Lynch

Let's say that the FBI concludes that there is insufficient evidence to indict. Matter closed. Let's say that they conclude otherwise and submit the case to the Justice Dept. If the news of their recommendation is suppressed, again, matter closed. If however, news that the FBI has requested an indictment and it is made public, there are two options: (1) Hillary is indicted or (2) AG uses prosecutorial discretion to not indict. The trial could not reach court before the election and the DNC or Hillary would have to choose whether her campaign goes ahead or a new nominee is chosen. I suspect the election would go to Trump by default. If the AG does not indict, I suspect Trump would also win. Thus, the matter really comes down to the FBI action and whether or not it becomes public knowledge.

CPT Jack Durish - Hillary was asked if she would suspend her campaign/candidacy if she was indicted. She responded that it was not going to happen. When pressed to answer, "but what if you are indicted" again, she said that in that unlikely event she would not get out of the race.

I just hope that Obama and Lynch do the right thing, but, if not, that the FBI goes public with it.

MSG Christopher Chouinard - You touch upon an interesting point. Richard Nixon, admittedly one of the most ambitious politicians in modern history, stepped aside when he could have contested his loss to Kennedy. There had been flagrant abuses (especially in Chicago), and a recount could have delivered the victory in a very close election to him. But Nixon chose instead "to step aside" rather than put the nation through that agony. Now if a man who many believe to be venal and corrupt, can step aside, why can't Hillary?
