Wow more cuts. The unintended consequence would be an influx of service members trying to get on post housing so utilities would be part of rent on post.

I for one for years have advocated that it should be a dollar for dollar cost. The concept that allows soldiers to pocket extra cash is a system of fraud. I used to get hot because I would have married E-3's and E-4's made more than single E-6's. I would love to see a system that took it out of the soldiers and went straight to the landlords. We are trillions of dollars in debt, it is time we as a nation did our parts, and military mismanagement of funds is a good starting point. We spend far too much on things we should manage.

We are 1% of the population and this is the entitlement congress is going after? Not welfare reform or fixing Social Security. They go after military benefits cause we are an easy target. I am totally against waste but there is better fat to go after.

History likes to repeat itself. This was called BAQ/VHA in the past. The O&M burden on the finance community along with personnel maxing out the benefits caused us to move to BAH to save money.
