Some positive news today of a General Officer retiring with a spotless career. Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III was a quiet general and a soldier's soldier. Austin's retirement last week ended a 41-year Army career. He was known for avoiding the spotlight in spite of being in key command and decision making positions.

I was a civilian contractor in Baghdad when the General was closing down the "system" Great guy and good example of Leadership.

He was a great leader and gave us one hell of a go to war speech before we invaded Iraq
