Hall of Fame athletes who served in the U.S. armed forces

Sgt Joe LaBranche thanks for the post, nice read, I did not see any play, but did I hear/read and watch them on T.V. Iconic in every aspect of talent.

Well I'm to young to have seen most of them play, but I did know Jacky Robinson was a Cavalry man in the Army. I also went to the same Academy Prep school as Roger Staubach (NMMI)

Sgt Joe LaBranche Great article. I didn't know a lot of the players. The ones I did know, only some did I know had served. The ones I didn't know had served, it doesn't really surprise me that they served. The one that got me the most was an NFL lineman flying A-10s. I just cannot imagine a large stature person being comfortable in any combat aircraft. The flip side of that is it would figure that an NFL Lineman would fly an A-10. It is their protective nature. Instead of protecting the line of scrimmage on the field, protecting the soldiers on the ground.
