I know I could be wrong for this, but it seems right to see him go home with his brothers. I don't feel the sadness in this case, I feel he's actually happy, and I'm happy for him.

PO2 Mark Saffell - I was there in 2012 during Operation Key Resolve. Our Civil Affairs team was there for a mock humanitarian assistance/natural disaster exercise added to the Korean war mission exercise. Our excersice director said we were not going to start until the next day so we went to the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri and the USS Bowfin. Our CO promoted a soldier to E-7 under the rear gun turret of the Missouri as an attack sub was coming back to port with all sailors on the deck. What a scene of History and present day naval power!

I remember going into port on board the USS Enterprise with everyone in Dress whites manning the rail and hearing the XO come over the 5MC and saying Attention to Port, Prepare to render honors, Hand Salute...The chill I got and still do. This Picture Im attaching is of the Enterprise coming into port a bunch of years after I did but still just as cool. Hope you like it.

I was stationed there in the 80s. We did this every time we left and came home. It never got old. It's a proud reminder of why we serve.
