El Chapo asks to speed up extradition to U.S. from Mexico

I think while want to hold him responsible for what he's done by sending drugs to the US, in getting him, we could be setting ourselves up for a bigger failure with him here. El Chapo represents a constant failure in our drug laws. We want to blame and get the supplier, but we won't go after the reasons there are so many suppliers....we are scared to actually admit that we are the consumers and that we dictate supply and demand. Make it harder on those who use the drugs, you'll eventually see something will give. CO, WA, and CA did a good thing in legalizing weed. Now you can get a "medicinal use" card to use, taking away the stigma of having to go find a dealer to sell to you. It also negates some of the pull the cartels have in those states, since locals can grow and sell on their own. But we refuse to put the hammer down on the other drugs both natural and synthetic for various reasons, nor do we actually equally enforce the laws that are already pretty strong on the books now.
