Lawmakers move to abolish the draft

With all of the political buzz about whether or not women should be required to register for selective service four representatives have moved to abolish the draft all together. Do you think the draft is still relevant or necessary? Or do you agree with Rep. Peter DeFazio who said “Not only will abolishing the Selective Service save the U.S. taxpayers money, it will remove an undue burden on our nation’s young people. We need to get rid of this mean-spirited and outdated system and trust that if the need should arise Americans — both male and female — will answer the call to defend our nation.”
