CPO Tim Dickey - Chief; Don't expect that "prepared" translates into actual "BOTG" until AFTER the polls close in November.

At some point, in Syria, you have to chose between [1] wacko ISISite terrorists, [2] wacko al-Qa'edast terrorists, and [3] wacko dictatorial terrorists.

Well, either that or let everyone fight it out amongst themselves and accept the final resolution whatever it is.

There simply aren't any significant [4] "progressive, secularist, democratic forces" in Syria to support, and even if you could find them then [1], [2], and [3] would all gang up on them.

Sir, I agree. Anything to protect the political class at the expense of real, decisive action. Rome burns as the politicians fiddle. The flip side is that the insurgency will continue to escalate along sectarian lines. Unfortunately, this also means the rhetoric will increase on all sides further stoking what may become the first pan-regional conflict of the 21st century because Turkey will eventually become fully engaged.

CPO Tim Dickey - Chief; I suspect that getting Turkey fully engaged is one of the LAST things that the ISISites would want to happen.

For one thing that would meld the Kurd's and Turk's efforts into a single goal (and I don't think that the Turks would be in the least bit shy about promising to support the Kurd's desire for a "homeland" (which they have never had) as long as that "homeland" was located on territory that is currently Iraqi and Syrian.

For another, things haven't changed that much in the Turkish military and "summary execution" at the LT level still comes under scrutiny if it becomes TOO MUCH of a routine thing in any unit.

We need to be more assertive in the region and not sorry to say this, but kill the bastards. I have no sympathy for a group of pedophiles, and rapists using religion to thug out the world. Show them no mercy; for they will not show you any mercy. As for the politics, thank God I am not POTUS. I know there are some bombers that need to air out their wings, and some Marines itching to send a few to hell, and to clear out the throats of our big guns, from the USN. I HATE ISIS with a passion!!!

I agree, however the only consequences we will face, is if we do nothing. We need to show the world that we are not thier police. However, at the same time show the world we will not stand for the evils of a peopke or culture of death.

Hmmmm....I seemed to remember a certain President promising we wouldn't have boots on the ground in Syria. Would he break that promise? Now, THAT's a surprise.

I take it all back. I must be a racist.
