Thanks for reminding us about Stormin' Norman's quotes SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
1. “I believe that forgiving them is God’s function. Our job is to arrange the meeting.” [timeless, short and to the point.]
2. “It doesn’t take a hero to order men into battle. It takes a hero to be one of those men who goes into battle.” 'great quote and very true]
3. “You should never forget that the airplanes don’t fly, the tanks don’t run, the ships don’t sail, the missiles don’t fire unless the sons and daughters of America make them do it.” [good lesson for the Services which are focused on machinery and large weapons systems. The Army euips people not vice versa]
4. “True courage is being afraid, and going ahead and doing your job anyhow, that’s what courage is.” [Very true]
5. “I’ve managed to convince my wife that somewhere in the Bible it says, ‘Man cannot have too many shotguns and fishing poles.’” [that one I do not concur with :-)]

LTC Ford: come on now Sir. General Schwartzkopf always quoted to the relevant theme and number 5 was no different. One has to remember, that quote came from his retirement interview. My opinion is a little slanted however, as he was my favorite General. Take care.

SFC William H. - I realize Stormin Norman was probably clueless when it comes to the Bible so he has no idea what word are contained in it :-)
He certainly was a great general officer and he was perfect for his role in Desert Storm.
