"Many Republican Party leaders fear that a Donald Trump candidacy would hand the White House to Hillary Clinton"....this is true. No matter who ends up in the White House, it should be a leader who embraces America, not the other way around. Trump is everything the "Me" generation is said to be, except he came from the baby boomers. I like the idea of being able to say what you want within reason, but Trump takes it to new heights with his rhetoric. And should you call him out, he'll call you names and then threaten to sue. So who's supposed to have the thick skin again? If he acts like this to a "common" American, what on earth do you think he'll do to Putin? "You're low energy Putin"..."I'm gonna sue you for every ruble Russia has for insulting me". I'd expect this from a child like bully, not from the president. Unlike every other candidate, he hasn't come out with one workable feasible policy that could be taken seriously, or even debated in a serious forum. Folks don't like Hilary or Bush, but both have come out with something that tells you where they stand (for now) on a topic and how they would implement it, and they can be debated in a professional manner. "Building a wall; a great wall, and the Mexican government will pay for it...I'll force them to". Seriously? Operation Wetback was a "Good Thing"? President materiel huh? "I'm against government surveillance"..."If I'm in charge, I'll put the FBI on every Muslim that comes here"....I guess Hoover's file on his family wasn't thick enough to see the stupidity in that. If this is the best the republican base can provide in regards to a candidate, Bills gonna be the "First Dude" in the white house guaranteed, and Hillary will laugh all the way to where she invites Donald to her inauguration. Blessed thing for me is I'm not for either party, and right now, it's like watching Keystone Kops on primetime every day and mainstream media eats it up.

SPC Kirk Gilles - I'm with you on some of this. Now with DJT, has a nasty habit of opening mouth inserting FEET, and then suddenly blaming someone else. That makes him a typical politician except he isn't. He cannot work with women as his equal. If you're not beneath him or willing to sell your soul to the devil, he has no need for you. Want to talk about him? Go ahead, his lawyers will be in touch. I'll give the regular candidates this much....they talk bad about each other all day long. When was the last time you saw one sue the other? He's not a racist. Well his track record from the early 70's on says otherwise. You claim not to know who Duke is, but you were in a political party with him for years? If Trump won, the DOJ will be busy as hell suing the brakes off everyone who didn't kiss his ass on time. As POTUS will he go back to having more military training than ANY of us when making decisions with life or death in the balance?
HRC is to a point the female version of Trump minus the lawsuits. We've heard the stories where those families were told lies from her. At the same time, you have three families who said she lied, but one that said she didn't? How can that be when all of you were there at the same time? When she was on the breakfast club and they asked her what does she keep in her bag and she said hot sauce, I'm glad I wasn't eating or my computer would've been soaked in vomit. So now you're Beyonce? Bengazi had congress just did their damn jobs instead of running a BS witch hunt, I'd wager she would not be the defacto DNC nominee. How can Regan who had 241 dead in Beiruit, LESS technology, and congress comes in, investigates and in 12 months can outline everything? How was it that Chaffetz wanted her bad enough to where another republican goes on tv and said some really dumb stuff?
People want to see what they want to see. Some can't see that DJT is worthless as a human being let alone as President. They don't see that this man had single handedly destroyed the GOP. They see someone with a slogan of "Making America Great Again".....sounds good until you get past the BS and realize America has been the Michael Jordan of the world for 241 years. Clinton....do I really have to say nice things about her? I don't think there is an intern alive worried about sleeping with her, hell you could deploy and normally three to six in, you'd be happy to get anything. Anything BUT her. There is nothing good coming from either one of these candidates. You're spot on that a Indie candidate has no chance at winning, but had Perot not messed his run up, he was in a position to pull off the upset. Get ready for some 'Murica jokes. I at least hope they're funny.

SSG Warren Swan - Help me sort out what is better or worse in regards to Service or no Service.
Bush goes Air Guard. Is that the same as a deferment? Was time of war and he did not deploy.
DJT gets a college deferment. If he had gone Air Guard would that have been better? Many people got deferments.
Sec Kerry, upon graduating Yale decided that USN service would enhance his political goals (His words). He served and fought. Is that better?
HRC made up a story about walking into a USMC office and claimed they kept her from serving because they were sexist (Her words, unsupported by evidence). Made no other efforts to serve in time of war. Women were not subject to draft.
Bill C gets deferment then gets very high draft number. Better because he was exposed to the draft?
BHO did not volunteer for military service. There was no draft. Better or worse?
Only one person in this list was not intending to go into Government.
Who would be more noble and who would be less noble as it relates to Service?

SPC Kirk Gilles - Damn good points. Having service under your belt is only as good as the fool wearing the belt. Hell Bidens son went, but he was a MAJ when he passed. I can't get mad at him being he did more than many others. Having service is the "in" thing to everyone except us. Duckworth gets a pass from that. She has my respect, and I wonder had she been fine would she have gotten out? This "in" thing will go away soon enough to where it won't be fashionable like it is now. I look at Powell. Clearly a respected man, admired leader, and the last man to be offered five stars. He retires, and gets the royal shaft from the "intel" that took us into Iraq. He is a professional. He took the hit on the chin and punched out quietly. I hear folks talk about Mattis. He'd get the same thing. He's someone WE'D want, but is too raw, too "military" for those up there to deal with. Congress will not have Patton pt2 running around with loaded knife hands yelling at a 20 yr legislator. And I also believe that it wouldn't matter what party you're in, he's gonna get that ass if he sees' you screwing up. Two men of integrity vs. two chambers of legislators who could care less unless it can help them. You want to impress me? Bring in some crusty ass E9 who really doesn't care about the BS, but remembers his main job is taking care of Joe. Joe just happened to be however many of us there are in America. Let operation Butthurt begin.

SPC Kirk Gilles - Is this you after hearing that? It's ok it it was. It would've been mine had a camera been there to take a look at me.

I am still hopeful that a conservative governor from the middle of this nation or a businessman or businesswoman will emerge as the Republican candidate SGT (Join to see).
I realize that Donald Trump is a businessman but he seems to have a polarizing effect not a unifying effect at this point. Grants the current POTUS had a polarizing effect on this country and look where that has taken us since 2008 :-)

Indeed! Our nation is so divided now because of our POTUS, it is going to take a lot of charisma and healing to put us back together again. Kind of like Humpty Dumpty. (-:

Problem is the Republican establishment has moved so far from the conservatives in the middle of the nation that they no longer reflect those values. Heck the only platform they could come up with for 2020 was Trumpism, and with over 40% of Republicans buying into that it seems hard to comprehend our parents conservative values returning to the party any time soon..
