Because I was told all my life that we were a very small percentage of Irish! I never held much interest in Irish Tradition and history. It wasn't until I found our families records showing why on both sides of my grandparents family tree that it was hidden. Embarrassed by being enslaved on one side, they hid their family roots. And the other was a government conspiracy, that was also covered up. Lol...
but all secrets aside, it's never too late to know and learn my Irish roots. Some fun facts I know you might already know SFC William Farrell. Like the Scottish they have a dying Gaelic language.

SFC (Join to see) If that Red Hair is For Real No Denying You Gaelic/Celtic Roots (LOL) Just as I Look at My Cousins, Sister, Daughter and Son, No Denying they are Dawes Clan Davidson (Scotts) Granny Sandy's Maiden Name was "Scott" So If Anyone wants to Bust My Chops about Being Inbred, Please Feel Free (Don't Marry Distant Cousins Voice of Experience!, My Son Didn't Learn He Married Into an Old English Family We are Related Too) Irish I am Not but I was Raised in a German/Irish Community and Was "Adopted" by the Irish. Don't Know if that is a Blessing or a Curse Though. Hard to Believe that I helped the Royal Marines Teach US Marines Riot Control Skills they Learned in Northern Ireland (LOL)

I thought my red hair came from my dads side @William “Chip” Nagel. But they are Scottish/Norwegian mostly. I have a lot of half brothers and sisters on my dads side who also have mostly red hair. But I was told most of my life on my moms side both grandparents were born from Native American parents of one of them. Sad to find out it was all untrue. My grandfather was born on the Choctaw territory of Oklahoma. We do have a roll number and everything. But it turns out we have no Indian on my moms side. Just my dads.

SFC (Join to see) - My Granddaughters Hailey and Madison have some Native American Heritage but I'm Pretty Sure the Red Heads I Grew Up With were Scots and Krauts. My Cousins, My Sister, My Son, My Daughter, My Mrs "Granny Sandy" and all My Grandchildren were born with Red Hair although it changed in all. I"m Pretty Sure I Know Where It Came From.

SFC (Join to see) - My Heritage is Mostly German, With a Name Like Wilhelm Wesling Nagel, That is about as German as You Get! But it Does Appear that the Dominant Gene in My Family is the Tall Scottish Line. Freakishly Tall and Red Heads, Someone from My Clan wearing a Kilt Running at You Screaming I'm Pretty Sure was Very Intimidating In It's Day on the Battlefield!

My husband still speaks Gaelic, and we watch films and listen to CDS in that language.
