Thanks my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell for letting us know about the very sad event on November 24, 1917 in Milwaukee while the Great War was being waged.
Sadly a bomb linked to the Sunday, Sept. 9, 1917 Bay View affair by the pastor, police and the newspapers was found at Giuliani's Third Ward church. It was carried to the central police station by a parishioner, where it exploded, killing nine policemen and a civilian.
EOD was a nascent science in those days.
Rest in peace police operators Edward Spindler, Sgt. Henry Deckert and detectives Charles Seehawer, Stephen Stecker, Frank Caswin, Albert Templin, Paul Weiler, David O’Brien and Frederick Kaiser.

I love the old police uniforms LTC Stephen F. and pictures. Doesn't the belt look like a general officer's belt?

SFC William Farrell - Could be my friend. However every flag officer including Generals are authorized to have a uniform of their own preference design - including belts :-)
