The NCO Creed in the United States Army was my foundation, when I reached Sergeant rank 1 May 1994 and for the next 20 and half years as a NCO it was and still is my pedigree going forward. NCOs will forever be the heartbeat of every mission and to me its about the "accomplishment of my mission and the health/welfare of the Soldier". Shoot move and communicate. 'Train to Lead, Lead to Train"
The NCO Creed
No one is more professional than I. I am a Noncommissioned
Officer, a leader of soldiers. As a Noncommissioned Officer, I realize
that I am a member of a time honored Corps, which is known as "The
Backbone of the Army. " I am proud of the Corps of Noncommissioned
officers and will at all times conduct myself so as to bring credit upon
the Corps, the Military Service and my country regardless of the
situation in which I find myself. I will not use my grade or position to
attain pleasure, profit or personal safety.
Competence is my watch-word. My two basic responsibilities will
always be uppermost in my mind-accomplishment of my mission and
the welfare of my soldiers. I will strive to remain tactically and
technically proficient. I am aware of my role as a Noncommissioned
Officer. I will fulfill my responsibilities inherent in that role. All soldiers
are entitled to outstanding leadership; I will provide that leadership. I
know my soldiers and I will always place their needs above my own. I
will communicate with my soldiers and never leave them uninformed.
I will be fair and impartial when recommending both punishment and
rewards.
Officers in my unit will have maximum time to accomplish their
duties; they will not have to accomplish mine. I will earn their respect
and confidence as well as those of my soldiers. I will be loyal to those
with whom I serve; seniors, peers and subordinates alike. I will
exercise initiative by taking the appropriate action in the absence of
orders. I will not compromise my integrity nor my moral courage. I will
not forget, nor will I allow my comrades to forget that we are
professionals, Noncommissioned officers, leaders!

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS
SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL A while back I digitized my "I love me" wall, and this was pg2 of my Co NCO Leadership Grad Certificate. They (p1-2) are actually one of my favorite keepsakes.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS Roger that, I would keep mines in my LEADERS BOOK. I was always reciting it. My leaders made sure we knew it and most importantly living it on a daily basics. This is the STANDARD---SWEET!

To me, SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL it means I've got professionals that I can count on to guide me, advise me, and counsel me and follow me, when I need them and that I can be there for them.

please , if you are going to reproduce the Creed of the NonCommissioned Officer, in 4his forum then make sure you verify the exact wording....1st it is " I will communicate CONSISTENTLY with my Soldiers and never leave them uninformed" you left out consistently. 2nd it is " I will be fair and impartial when recommending both rewards and punishment" not punishment and rewards. 3rd it is "Officers of my unit....." not in my unit.
