Military Experiences
Aug 1983 - Apr 1985
Military Police
Worked Mainside security. We were attached to infantry units. I remember there were two types of Military Police. started building back up my pride of the Corps, knocked the drinking off and went gung ho. Would of reenlisted but a divorce changed my goals. I thank God for the Marine and what it taught me. Took me a little while to get it together but I did.
Married happily to the same wife now for 29 years who is retired from United States Air Force. Both of my boys are married, working full time and going to college. One with the sheriff's dept and other runs the mill at night. That is success all in itself that they and their wives love and support me. OOOOrah

Instructor
Awesome time training young Marines. Was going great moving up quickly to SGT to have it stripped just as fast for hazing. After making PVT Sparks and Beckemeyer crawl through a dumpster for sleeping while on Armory Duty. They were mad for having to Police the area instead of sleeping and threw the trash in dumpster in defiance. During a Congressional at the time well over 11 instructors lost stripes and money. The spiral started of 2 DUIs each costing a stripe a piece.
Jun 1980 - Apr 1982
Broke my back while performing night maneuvers somewhere outside of Camp Margarita. Deployed to Camp Hansen, Camp Guard where I worked as the NCOIC of Officers Quarters. Apprehending a Marine Lt for sexual crimes against women Marine Officers. Major Whall was awesome in his leadership of this unit of Marines. I received several Meritorious Mast. Lcpl Hindelighter and I chased down a Marine carrying his duty 45 pistol while stoned on Opium. Reenlisted upon return to the States while in the Desert of Twenty Nine Psalms Gallant Eagle 1982
May 1979 - May 1980
Provided security for the base personnel and weapons. I was very blessed being only 17 and a High School drop out; a Colonel Diffee, (I believe). Sent me back to finish High School. Sent letters to my parents concerned of my well being and asking to notify him if I begin to have problems with drugs and alcohol. The letter was a genuine concern on his part to look out for his Marines. My parents still have the letter and I have a Master's Degree plus. Thank to him and his leadership. Thank you Sir

Went over with Echo Co 2/5 and was attached to Camp Hansen Camp Guard. Out of that I was assigned NCOIC of Officers Quarters. I was responsible for apprehending 6 of Camp Hansens "Most Wanted List," including the 2nd LT who had been sexaully terrorizing Women Marine Officers. That is how the award read anyway. Great time working with Great Marines
