Served as DCA as well as Division Officer for A, E, and R Divisions. Qualified as Fleet Officer of the Deck and Engineering Officer of the Watch. Also functioned as the Ship Repair Officer. Ship was forward deployed to Yokosuka Japan and performed Naval Gunfire Support off coast of Vietnam. Supported Operations Frequent Wind and Eagle Pull during evacuation of Vietnam and Saigon. Supported rescue of the USNS Mayaguez from Cambodian pirates.
