Military Experiences

Jun 2009 - Aug 2012
WWBn - East
Patient
Most of my days were spent in rehab; learning how to walk again, run again, and just trying to regain some sense of normalcy. When I was not in therapy, I was just like any other Marine interacting with fellow Marines on the base. I would mostly spend my time in and around the company office, helping where I could.
Aug 2007 - Jun 2009
2nd MARDIV
Instructor
While here, I was the assistant lead mortar and machine gun instructor. I was also the lead CQB and 2nd ISMT Instructor.
Dec 2006 - Aug 2007
8th Marines
S4 Logistics NCOIC
While here, I learned everything from logistics to embarkation. I was the lead Motor T coordinator for all of 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 10th Marines; to include 2nd Recon and MARSOC. If the unit needed vehicles, regardless the kind, I made it happen!
Feb 2005 - Dec 2006
Weapons Co
Squad Leader
While with 2/2 I worked my way from ammo man on a mortar team, to lead section gunner. I also was cross trained as a machine gunner and was our platoon's convoy's lead gunner my entire 2005/2006 deployment. Eventually I became the assistant section leader for the mortar platoon, but that didn't last long as I went to 8th MarReg soon after.

Deployments

(8 months)
Jul 2005 - Feb 2006
Iraq ribbon
Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
Our unit's main objective was to be the Mobile Assault Platoons for the Al Anbar province. I was a lead machine gunner while on this deployment. Mid-way through the deployment, my platoon was tasked with training the entire 3rd Iraqi Army Brigade in all matters CQB. (That was challenging.)
