Bio
I was born 1945 in Mt Vernon NY. My family were Bronx residence since 1880. I attended parochial Catholic grammar( Nativity of Our Lady) and High School (Mt St Michael Academy). I was awarded a scholarship to attend Fordham College Bronx Rosehill campus receiving a BA in History. I received MA in American History after returning home from the service. I was a caseworker (social worker) in NYC ; and from 1974-81 Executive Board member of SSEU local 371 and Trustee of one of their benefit funds. I switched jobs and in 1981 was appointed Deputy Director of Personnel for a unit in Human Resources Department dealing with Homecare sick and disabled and eventually became Director of Personnel for new City Agency, the Administration for Children's Services. I was physically present on 9/11 and saw the World Trade Center South tower go down. It became difficult physically and emotionally to work 2 blocks from the ruin and I accepted NYS/NYC buy-out with a few other thousand others and retired from NY in 10/2002. I had an older brother who was an officer in the Naval Engineers . His 2 tours of duty in Da Nang area and the shrapnel finally got to him years later and he is buried in Arlington Cemetery. My younger brother is a member of a Catholic Religious Order. I currently do volunteer work concerning matters of Civil Service Rules, Law, and Regulations as they pertain to Personnel matters for a white collar independent Civil Service Union.
