Waffle House is a privately held, short-order restaurant company founded in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia by Joe Rogers, Sr. and Tom Forkner. Waffle House currently operates over 1,700 company units; there are also about 250 franchise units. As of 2017, Waffle House, Inc. is the 4th largest operator of restaurants in America.
