About
The origins of Piedmont Airlines can be traced back to 1931, when founder Richard A. Henson, an aviation pioneer and Fairchild Aircraft test pilot, began a fixed-base operation as Henson Aviation in Hagerstown, Maryland. More than 80 years later, Piedmont continues a strong tradition of safety, excellence and customer service in the aviation industry.
Headquartered in Salisbury, Maryland, we carry more than 3 million passengers a year, flying approximately 400 flights a day to more than 55 destinations. We operate in regional markets throughout the east coast, feeding into American Airlines' hubs and focus cities.
Piedmont employs over 7,000 aviation professionals in nearly 80 cities across the country including Charlotte, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington.

Our Stars Wear Stripes
Did you fly Black Hawks in the military? Apaches or Seahawks? So did many of our commercial pilots. The skills you learned flying helicopters are uniquely valuable to becoming a fixed-wing pilot of Embraer jets.
Our military transition program is covered by the G.I. Bill with additional assistance from Piedmont. Your military flight hours already count. Customized training to fill requirement gaps takes place in one of three convenient locations, including Pensacola. Housing is on us.
