About

Established in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1996, Canines for Service (CFS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the longest running, internationally accredited service dog provider in North Carolina. CFS's mission is to empower people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and enhanced quality of life through the services of highly trained assistance dogs. Over the past 25 years, Canines for Service has trained over 150 dogs and worked with more than 100 clients. Today, CFS's primary focus is serving Veterans from all conflicts with service-connected mobility limitations, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
