Clear Answers on the Camp Lejeune Justice Act

What’s the Real Story?
Did you or a loved one drink the water at Camp Lejeune? The water was contaminated by waste leakage and chemical spills, causing serious illness and death. Military leaders covered it up for 30 years. Victims have been awarded an estimated $40 billion settlement.

Who was Affected?
Millions of veterans, civilian workers, contractors, and family members who lived or worked at Camp Lejeune between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987 have suffered tragic consequences from the toxic water.

Why Does it Matter to You?
If you or a loved one developed health problems from toxic water at Camp Lejeune, a groundbreaking new law is finally allowing you to seek compensation from the U.S. government for the harm you’ve suffered — physical, mental, and financial — even if you’re already getting VA benefits.

What Health Problems are Linked to the Toxic Water?
Various types of cancer, birth defects, miscarriages, infertility, Parkinson’s disease, fatty liver disease, myelodysplastic syndromes, scleroderma, renal toxicity, and more.

What Happens to My VA Benefits if I File a Claim?
Even if you have already gone to the VA for benefits, you are still eligible for a financial settlement. Your compensation would be above and beyond the VA support you’ve received. If you were denied VA benefits in the past, you may have a new opportunity for justice. If you are already receiving benefits from the VA, your settlement may be reduced by the amount already paid to you by the VA.

If My Loved One has Died, can I Still File a Claim?
Yes. Even if a victim has died from unrelated causes (heart attack, accident, etc.), you still have the right to pursue compensation for any illness caused by their exposure to toxic water.

Do I Need an Attorney?
Filing a lawsuit in federal court is a complicated undertaking. A qualified, experienced attorney can build a strong case that proves your injury is linked to the water contamination.

How Much Does an Attorney Cost?
Our select group of attorneys is working closely with JAG to support Camp Lejeune victims across the country – at no charge. They are handling these cases on a contingency-fee basis, meaning you don’t pay unless your case wins a settlement. Camp Lejeune attorney fees are capped at 25% of the settlement amount.

How Much is My Claim Worth Potentially?
Settlements could range from $50,000 to $1,500,000 or more, depending on the severity of your case and the physical, mental, and financial impact. 5,000 claims have already been filed.

How Can I Take Action?
We can explain why now is the time to take action and what compensation you could be entitled to. Find out everything you need to know regarding the law and how to claim your deserved compensation.
