How can a nationally registered paramedic apply to flight medic school?

Since the program is a pipeline from paramedic school to critical care school then to the F3 phase I cannot apply because I don't need the paramedic school and slots for critical care are filled by those completing the paramedic program. Anyone run into this? Or has anyone that is a current NRP went on to be a flight medic? Thanks.

This is a crock of poop. You should still be eligible you just won't have to do the NRP portion. You would still need to do the FP-C and go on to Rucker. You can still apply and go through. I know a guy who came in as an NRP and he just did what I said.

That's what I've been told since I began looking into this but the MSG at HRC said otherwise today

The MSG could be mistaken... NCOes are people too and people are subject to error... Amongst other things...

CPL (Join to see) I just contacted one of the MEDEVAC commanders I used to work with. His response to your question is:
Is this person currently active duty? If yes, he can try contact a SFC Coughlin at Medical Evacuation Proponent Directorate at Fort Rucker. He should be able to find the contact info on web. Just google the organization. Hope that helps.

I'm not on here complaining if that's how it seems, I appreciate the feedback and am really just looking to see if anyone has run into this same issue. At the end of the day I'd go through paramedic school again and let the Army pay me for 26 weeks for something I already have if it means getting in the air. Thank you all for your responses though!

Here is what you need to do. submit a 4187 requesting this training. If it is not available then they must tell you so in writing with references. I don't care what some one in an office says what he thinks he knows I want to see it in black and white.

I 2nd that... There's regulations for damn near everything pertaining to the military so... Research yourself... Sidebar:
When some ncos and officers, and supervisors in the civilian world give you information to make you choose to stay if you are a good, productive worker... They may try to mislead or discourage you from leaving in order for them to hold on to your skills &/or productivity.
