...And, none of us currently living on this earth, are 'they' (the people in paradise).
I'm reminded of a couple of Bible verses:
In the book of Luke 23:42, concerning one of the criminals crucified along with Jesus, "And he was saying, 'Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!' And He said to him, 'Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise'.” Jesus has gone to prepare a place for those of us who have been adopted into His family. That place is heaven, sometimes referred to in Scripture as 'Paradise.'
Again, in the book of Revelation, chapter 2 & verse 7,
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God."
Although God's creation is beautiful, like that sunset in Tampa, nothing on this earth is comparable to the Paradise we've been promised. But, that promise can only be realized by becoming a child of the living God. How do we do that? As Jesus told one of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." [John 3:3]. We must be born again - of the Holy Spirit - to enter Paradise.
Now there is a warning to us in the book of Romans 1:19-21:
"Because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened."
We must be careful not to worship only the creation. It's the Creator who deserves our worship. Otherwise, our hearts can become darkened.
Forgive me for getting on my soap box & preaching a sermon. Yes, God's creation - though our world is fallen - is still quite beautiful, such as the sun setting over Tampa Bay. Thank you for sharing, Jack.
But to those of you who may not have a relationship with our Creator, please seek Him while He may be found. We want to see YOU in paradise.
