Fort Leavenworth, KS

Downtown Power and Light District. Great food, good shopping and site seeing (at Christmas it's AWESOME). KC Speedway is 20-25 minute drive along with KC Sporting (Soccer Stadium) and Bass Pro Shop. The Kansas City Royals and Chiefs are both are with-in driving distance on I-70. Then you have Schlitterbahn KC with Verruckt, the tallest water slide in the world (168 foot 7 with a second 50 foot drop). In theme parks, Words of Fun and Ocean of Fun (you can get into both though one) are in Missouri, but are worth it and have Military discounts.
