In Afghanistan, it is one of the two official languages in Afghanistan.

Dari is very close to the Persian Farsi and the language Tjiki, which is spoken in Tajikistan

If you become proficient in Dari, you could work in the region Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan, State Department and Intelligence agencies.

In the past it was difficult to find any opportunity to learn the Language, but now the Internet is offering classes on line and on campus education.
