From AIS data, appears ship ran aground 1/4nm south of shipping channel (buoy 19) on a sand bar leaving Brunswick, GA. Reason why is not publically known. I've briefly sailed on two Pure Car Carriers; Green Lake and Green Bay. These two ships had 13 car decks holding about 2800 vehicles. All have minimal fuel and fully drivable. Fire can spread rapidly. Imagine at a nearly 90deg angle, all the fuel that can leak out of the vent tubes.
They are very tall floating parking garages. Windage is a major problem at slow speeds.
Missing crewmen can be anywhere in the vast cargo spaces. I used to walk the car decks for exercise. Then it dawn on me that if I fell or got hurt, I wouldn't be found for hours, if at all. I will pray for a positive discovery.
