Making negative statements open you up to a response: either you make the statement and then do nothing more, or you make a threat. If you do nothing more, you look weak because all you can do is talk. If you make a threat, well, you know where that leads. Neither option is productive.

My first question when I saw the original post was: “what does this have to do with America?” The answer was pretty clear... absolutely nothing. This is very much an internal matter that does not impact America in any real substantial way so why should the President speak out? Oh right, he shouldn’t and I’m glad he didn’t. We’ve got our own problems to focus on.
