LAST UPDATED 05-15-2015 DEADLINE DELAYED, more below.

I'm happy to provide my original PDF with full included citations to anyone who asks, just tag me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

I will also add updates on this answer post with the date at the top so that people know when it was last modified, if I hear anything from the VA on it, or if anyone contacts me to appraise me of a change.

Please help pass this info to vets who it may affect. People need to know!

05-07-2015 I want to add an update, and intend to do this as I learn more. I've done some more digging in the the VA website, and the language still seems very clear that they intend to deny all GI Bill benefits to all beneficiaries in schools/programs and states that are not compliant.

05-15-2015 CRITICAL UPDATE: This impending deadline has been delayed! The VA has released a broad waiver covering states that intend to comply but have not yet done so. This will delay the deadline until December of 2015. The risk is not over, but it no longer falls as soon.

Thanks for the info, Sir.

Here is a thread I started recently, concerning the Post-9/11 GI Bill, as well:

Thanks Capt Richard I P. for the heads up!

As far as I know RI is in compliance. I am one of the unfortunate few who got out in April of 2009 before the benefit became transferrable to family members so I'm trying to fight that battle/ It would be great to get a free ride for one of my children, but at this time I don't qualify for the transfer.

My husband is in the same situation Bob. So I am giving my children my GI bill. I have four kids so I am dividing it up.
