I wish I was the SMA so I had so much time to work out? Must be really nice.

MSG Brad Sand so your unhappy that the SMA places his physical fitness above most time wasting events like smoking, drinking posting on RP, watching TV, ect? I can find no negative thought in reading that the SMA prioritizes his daily needs to include fitness training.

For sure I could not bring myself to look down on him because in his position he has chosen to set aside PT time.. perhaps he does so while listening to briefs... Perhaps he finds other Pentagon staffers, soldiers, Airmen to work out with... you know like a leader should.... perhaps that stress relieving 1~2 hours per day is known to him to improve his overall mental position, ability to focus, critical thinking process..and as such his is better at his assigned duties then if he were to be sitting in a briefing those same 2 hours a day.

No disrespect intended MSG, but if you can not find 1 hour in your daily routine to spend on fitness .. your not trying hard enough or have chosen to not make it a priority.. which is an OK choice to make for your self, but kind of disrespectful to speak ill of those that choose differently.

If I read into your above post some negativity you did not intended, then my mistake.. but it is the way it comes across to me.
As to the question.... id say Im About even with his schedule most weeks... If I'm away from home in a Hotel, then my work outs get extended... if away from home and staying with friends or family, then they might get cut short all together unless that person works out as well.
My personal goal is to cut body fat, increase aerobic fitness, and maintain strength.
All while making as little life changes to diet as possible... As those changes are most often short lived and once the "diet" is stopped, the gains are lost.

No, I'm jealous. My last duty assignment, I was able to get some quality fitness center time in but I do not recall having the time to run 7 miles a day, three times a week. He probably is a lot faster than me too...especially now.

Actually, I think when I was in boots, I would have been able to keep up with him. I was not actually trying to be negative in any way. If he has the time, more power to him.

From your reply I went back and looked at what was listed and you are right there is not really anything more than an hour a day?

MSG Sand you should read the article where he talks about this. He makes PT a priority every morning.

Wow, I'm happy if I get a 5 mile hike (not run) in once a week.
