Getting tired of this- Feminists scream about equality and being able to do any man's job. Hell over 20+% of the services are women now, and thy are allowed in combat positions. If they can fight like a man, then why in the hell are they except for the draft? True it hasn't been used in50 years, but it is sitting there in case of an emergency

SPC (Join to see) - "It is u desirable to have women drafted on an equal basis to men. It will have a negative effect on the birth rate. Men only need one day in order to ensure population renewal. Women have to stay at home for nine months. For this reason alone women should not be drafted."

The birth rate is declining right now because people can't afford to have kids. So tell me again how making women 18-26 register for Selective Service would impact the birth rate negatively? Do you think that if women have to register that makes them have to serve? The Selective Service is what would be used to draw from if the draft is reinstated.

You act like there aren't women ON active duty right now who haven't been having children. I was pregnant on active duty. I had my daughter a month early due to preeclampsia. I was at work the day they said I was going to be induced actually - and I did PT that morning even. So I worked up until I gave birth. Also what women - military or civilian "stay home for nine months' while pregnant? What does that mean? They just couldn't deploy but they could still fill support roles stateside. You know like how people are on Rear D when a unit deploys...

Wow...just wow. The ignorance is astounding.

Economic decline does a play a part in stagnating birth rates. But drafting women just compounds the problem. Therefore my contention still stands. Drafting women is a bad idea.SFC Kelly Fuerhoff

Would be great if we weren’t constantly lowering the standards to meet a desired outcome.

Whats good for the gander is good for the goose. This shouldn't even be an issue. The uniforms should also be identical, with shape and size adjustments as needed, to include hair cuts. It's MILITARY, not women's army or men's army or other service. Frankly, service of some kind or other should be required to vote.

I never in my 20 years of service was worried about a sexual assault or sexual harassment allegation. The sexual predators and harassers should be given maximum punishment if the allegations are substantiated. I know Republicans especially were not in favor of having women in the draft.

I couldn’t agree more. I am still perplexed that the male and female standards for selected service and MOS assignments have not followed suit with a woman’s ability to now join any job description. If they can opt in, they should certainly be able to be assigned to any job upon entry, the same as men.

While I feel different personally, what’s fare is fare.

Republicans have always fought women in service - and keep fighting making women register for Selective Service.

I'll say it again and again we need to just get rid of the Selective Service. No one should be forced to fight in war.

CSM Darieus ZaGara - Well the ACFT has been gender and age neutral...

Also - you know if they reinstate the draft there will be waivers just like last time that men and women would be able to use if women had to register for SS.
