My VA claim showed pending decision approval and project to be done next week. Now it shows Preparation for Decision and projected to be done now late march to late April. The VFW is doing my claim. Has any one had this happen to them? My VFE Rep told me it was almost done

Yes, if you can't get it on your own, you need to seek the assistance of a VSO (Veterans Service Officer) at a state level Veterans Administration, or a local service organization VFW, Legion, DAV etc... As they all have them.

I would RECOMMEND HIGHLY having a power of attorney via a VSO when you deal with the V.A.!!!

If you want to get rated the way you deserve from the VA take a look at what I do, and DON"T DO THAT.

I moved to a "troubled" VA region after I retired. I got low balled in a quick and absolutely ludicrous initial rating so they could say they cleared the backlog and I have been waiting on the appeal ever since.

Honestly, due to my Multiple Sclerosis (Service Connected), I had to have "Congressional Influence" to speed up my year long wait. After around a year, I called my Senator, and it was amazing - He (personally) called the VA, and the next week my decision was "rendered".
They are there for our help! - PS, I use the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
