I got promoted out of my unit in December and I'm supposed to report to my new unit after my deployment. If I get accepted into the AGR program, and I don't go to that unit , will I be reverted back to SPC? PFC (Join to see) SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL SFC James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" LTC Stephen F. CPL Dave Hoover SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth SSG (Join to see) Capt Dwayne Conyers CPT Jack Durish MSG (Join to see)

UPDATE: It appears I would lose rank if I go AGR. I was offered an E6 AGR position, but due to my promotion order stating I don't report to new unit until after my current deployment, my rank would be revoked. This also means I cannot accept AGR position as my rank revocation would make me an E4 and they cannot put an E4 into an E6 AGR position. My new unit stated they would waive my 1 year requirement, but my POC for AGR stated that wouldn't matter going AGR and I would still loose rank.

My best thought is that you should talk to higher up and see what happens if you decide not to go to this unit brother SSG(P) (Join to see)

The position has a specified grade requirement. It should've been specified during the application process. AGR E4 positions are virtually non-existent in most formations, so its probably a safe bet you'll keep your rank. I can't see any reason they would pursue a reduction over what youre describing.

Unfortunately sir, that doesn't appear to be the case. I was offered an E6 AGR position, but they stated due to my 1 year requirement in the new unit, my rank would be revoked and I wouldn't be able to accept the AGR position because I would be an E4 trying to get an E6 position.
