Will a 91b mos army enlistment present more opportunities than Walmart auto lube tech?

Cody Fug -my advise mirrors those given by Sgt Hallock and LTC Mackay with one small caveat ,if you chose the Military be aware it’s not like changing jobs in the civilian world,it is a commitment not to be taken lightly and requires the individual to a set of circumstances few are willing to endure,good luck Cody with your decision.

Cody Fug well, as a retired Ordnance Officer (Materiel Maintenance), I was going to say that being a soldier maintainer was a great place to learn, grow and acquire leadership experience, but the way you juxtaposed the Walmart experience, I feel I have wasted 22 years of my life.

Cody... The Army is what you make it. If it ain't for you, it ain't for you. But do yourself a favor, go meet a recruiter from each branch and see what they have to offer. As a 91B you can earn ASE ratings for diesel mechanics and other areas. Learn about other MOSs. Just because you are a mechanic now, doesn't mean you have to be in the Army. Maybe consider another Maintainer or Logistics MOS.

Cody Fug It depends on you and only you. You can do whatever you set your mind to do. Do you want to be a mechanic the rest of your life? Decide what your career goals are and then obtain the education and training that you need for that career path. The military can help you learn and grow if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Success takes hard work and commitment. Are you up for the challenge?
