Can anyone tell me why the process takes so long for RC officer/warrant promotions to run through the FedRec cycle? I'm an ARNG officer and I've had my state promotion orders for CPT since the middle of April. I've been tracking my packet on the ARNG-G1 website and it was awaiting addition to a scroll until a month ago and last week the scroll was ready to start the approval DoD cycle. Thoughts?

Looks like D08-17 is closing in on the gap to U06-17 (327 days).

CW3 (Join to see) - Yup, passed up U06-17 as the longest running scroll (with no known flag) in some time.

My packet was sent in December to NGB and it’s still sitting at 0 days awaiting assignment to scroll. What was everyone’s average time at 0?

I'm at day 230, I was at OT Jag from day 77 to day 223. I'm guessing another 3 months.

P04-18 was at OTJAG for about 32 days. Maybe they are starting to get their crap ironed out. Hasn't hit the G1 tracker yet but I guess we are at DMPM now and only 65 DOD days into the process..... Maybe we'll spend 150 days at DMPM! blah

I'm on 13-17 and we are out of OTJAG and DMPM, presently with DCS G1. How much longer are we in this thing? I'm assuming we have passed the longest offices but I know that might be wishful thinking.

Hard to say, I was at OTJAG until OCT, our scroll was finally published end of January on P08. Estimate 3-4 months?

I am on P10-17. A couple of weeks ago someone on my scroll contacted OPM and was told 30-60 days, but I find that doubtful at this point. The 3-4 months CPT Zenzen mentioned sounds more reasonable. We are at DCS G1 as well, and at 250 days on the scroll today. From what I'm tracking for the P01-17 through P09-17 scrolls that have published, the scroll day range prior to receiving promotion orders has been 175-283 days, with an average of 227 so far.

Anyone have any idea where this is in the process. Been at OT JAG since day 77. Tracker shows it moved here today.

The tracker isn't current a lot of times. They only update it once a month from what I understand. You could be further along than you think. CW2 Brad's tracker is more accurate. I'm not sure how he gets it but it is way more up to date than the one at the self service site.

CPT (Join to see) - Not my tracker sir, it came from my state OPM. However the information is available in DPRO (you need access to it, typically S/G/J-1's will have access).

As funny as many of these posts are...the real reason it takes so long Is that your packet has to go through, literally, 16 separate offices. This does not include what happens at your state. For some reason it has to go through like 3 separate JAG offices. This issue has been brought up by our leadership numerous times to NGB and per the usual NGB response was, "oh well." So don't expect it to get any better any time soon.

CPT (Join to see) - I would accept that if it improves. If Fed Rec is still this bad when I'm up for Major, I can't say for sure that I won't cross over to the Reserves. I don't want to do this again.

Bad news for those on D08-17, apparently your G1 trackers showing it has been at OSD for over four months is erroneous. My state's G1 just relayed an update to me that showed that scroll as being reported in error. It is actually at DMPM as of 310 days on your trackers. Sorry.

I'm glad to see some scrolls are finally being published. U13-17 is now at 180days and still at OTJAG. This entire process is extremely frustrating to say the least.

Sounds like U10-17 if signed and on its way back to NGB for IPERMS publishing. Hopefully that means U11 is not far behind.

For those of you on P08-17, U06-17, and D08-17 I highly suggest submitting a congressional inquiry to your local representative. It was a very quick process, and I had a response back from them in a few days. It may not solve the issue quickly, but at this point there is serious incompetence at NGB that needs to be addressed. If the Guard leadership wants to hound on accountability and retention, it's laughable that they don't address these issues!

I contacted my congressman by going to his website on the House of Representative website and sending an email using the "contact" link. After two days a person from his office contacted me and emailed a release form I had to sign for an inquiry. The person said he is already working an inquiry from my district and has been in contact with both NGB and big army. From our discussion it sounded like a lot of people are aware of the issue. I would encourage everyone to contact their representative...hopefully if we make enough noise the right person will hear and try to find a meaningful resolution.
