Can anyone tell me why the process takes so long for RC officer/warrant promotions to run through the FedRec cycle? I'm an ARNG officer and I've had my state promotion orders for CPT since the middle of April. I've been tracking my packet on the ARNG-G1 website and it was awaiting addition to a scroll until a month ago and last week the scroll was ready to start the approval DoD cycle. Thoughts?

Sorry to have gotten your hopes up, that was the information I was given second-hand.

I was assured that they have now dropped the three soldiers with negative background information from our scroll and we will now finish the process without anymore hiccups hopefully.

Anyone know details on P03-17 at 185 days? It shows it is still at JAG. Seems to be taking abnormally long.

I updated this elsewhere, but I've been assured the three people that were holding up P03-17 have been removed from our scroll and we are being walked through the rest of the process.

P02-17, My orders were iperm'd the same day the tracker changed to published. Well over a year wait in total until I got promoted.

Imagine how much money the Gov't saved by making you wait 15 months.

Anyone who is on P02-017 will be happy to learn that the order was published by NGB on 19 MAY 17... that was appx. 191 days on the counter. I'm sure timelines will vary on when those of us on the scroll will actually see our orders in iPERMS.

FIN-A-LY! . . .I'm still contacting my Congressman though. Why in the world does it take so long to do something that Active Duty processes in the span of 6 months?

Is Reserve Component truly the Red-Headed Stepchild of the Army?

Meh... graduated out of a unit that didn't care. Perhaps I was such an @$$hole that it didn't matter (doubt it, I am still in touch with many of them). NatGuard let things slip.

BTW... you're a touchy LT that probably has spent maybe 3 years in and never had to do a patrol. Whether in training or in the real world. Mind you, I never patroled in the real world. Leave that to the door kickers.

As I stated earlier.. 16 years, 10 years enlisted, 2 deployments as 11B to Ramadi in the early part of the war. I assure you that I have just as much experience if not more than you retired SFC. Like I said, your post are unnecessary. This post is for Officer's looking for updates on the promotion process, there are plenty of other posts you can troll around on. Again, thank you for your service.

"Pounding sand", that's some sort of corrective training, isn't it? I have my valet do that sort of thing for me. After he feeds me my caviar, of course.

Just an update for P04-17. Sounds like we have at least another month, if we go the same way P02-17 went. Frustrating.

MAJ (Join to see) - Almost a month according to the tracker, but I think it was there about 2 months according to my email traffic with NGB.

MAJ (Join to see) - SFC Chrissy Palmer. She is on the global. I'm sure she fields dozens of these types of emails each day, but she is very helpful. I try to limit emailing her to once a month.

Looking for information on the scrolling process for Nurses that have been selected in the November Boards. We are still waiting on this scroll to make it thru Congress (we are told), anyone have an idea of how long this takes or who we can contact to find out where a name is in the process? Thanks.

Is this for National Guard? The process we are discussing in this thread is the FedRec process for rank promotions which only applies to NGB Soldiers.

your orders are produced by the state you belong to and filling that position. The reserve corps works off the federal system and federal line number. Therefore, waiting until that number is filled on the national scale. Just bigger numbers to deal with, the red tape on a larger scale combined makes for that long wait.

Congrats everyone! I was also on Scoll L01-17, and my DOR was backdated all the way to FEB 2016! Anyone know how long it typically takes to get back pay and if its automatic?

It took about a week for everything to show me as a W4. I would guess you are going to see the back pay the next time you have pay processed.
