Almost every Agency and Administration in the American Government has a LEO branch.

However, speaking specifically of the EPA.. go onto someone's property to "inspect" or serve a warrant when they don't want you there and see what happens.

Very true. I'm not exactly the best with these things and am taking a fairly simple approach.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS - Not really... The preamble says "provide for the common defense..." so defense is covered. And the commerce clause is so misused and abused... reading the Federalist Papers really helps understand the original intent.

PO1 Kerry French Yes, but I specifically cited the language in Art 4, Section 3:

"The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the United States"

The EPA falls under that clause.

We haven't used the military for "common defense" for a LONG time. We use it for Global Stability.

SFC Michael Hasbun - Article 1, section 8. I agree with you on the last sentence.

Lean something every day I didn't know that the EPA has a Criminal Enforcement Division. Makes sense though.

I really don't think I have a problem with them having armed officers, but were you aware that they also have their own SWAT Team? More importantly, I'm not sure why the National Institute of Health, Federal Reserve Board, NOAA, and the Government Printing Office also have their own police forces. I understand the military concept of redundancy and dispersal, but this is ridiculous!

Indeed, the are a plethora of Federal Police agencies. All the more puzzling when one looks at the Constitution and finds no such sanction. In fact the Constitution gives the Federal government power to prosecute only a few crimes. Namely, Treason, Piracy, and Counterfeiting, with the general responsibility to protect our borders.

The same people asking this want teachers to be armed, and think they themselves should be armed 100% of the time. I thought an armed society was a polite society, the EPA is just making it more polite.

"Alright now you listen up . . . If I catch any of you using so much as an ounce of farm diesal in that highway pickup, I'm going to send mah goonies after you with the power of government sanctioned militant hippies!" - EPA

Lol, well I can't say I'm suprised, they are a government agency. What DOES surprise me is that EPA raids people!

Though the article does go on to talk about how few armed agents are really at these agencies (as of 2013). So I'm really interested, but have to go to work. I'll have to do some more internetting when I get off.
