There is new blood being drawn because Bibi won the elections. Before he won, he swore there would be no Palestinian State. Apparently, the Israel Voters sided with him. Since America and the "POTUS" are avid supporters of Israel, why would the Pres want to step on our Allies Toes??? I know there will be strong opinion, just please, be respectful.

Because it's Fox News? No one noticed that there was not one quote from the President in the entire story? The only thing that mentions him at all was one sentence; "White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said President Obama still believes in a two-state solution." Not exactly the epic cat fight the headline suggests...

Cpl Jeff N. Now this is a independent source, but I also heard the admin brought in more voters that were sided with the other candidate. Now is that true?? IDK. At the same time, I wouldn't put it pass him. What concerns me is that the people of Israel have obviously spoken and DO NOT want a Palestinian State. One thing I am sure, is that they are very worried about their entire existence.

Nope. I'm an NPR or BBC kind of guy..

Also smart enough to know that labels like conservative or liberal are meaningless drivel, intended only to divide. Do you really think you're such a simple minded fool that one word can define you? Can encapsulate all you are, think, believe and feel? I doubt it. Human beings are far too complex for that. No one of us is so narrow minded that one word can be attributed to our every belief. Every one of us has some beliefs that can be labeled liberal or conservative.. The world isn't as simple as the talking heads on TV would have you believe.

Sadly Rallypoint is just America in a Microcosm. Everyone's just repeating the party line from their party/channel of choice. As a general rule, foreign is more unbiased.

My opinions on this issue regarding why the POTUS may be handling things like this may be too strong; and I'm sure Blue Falcon would love to flock to an article like this. I will say that I stand with Israel and I'm happy BiBi won.

Actually the Israelis have offered it to them time and again at negotiating tables and, when offered, the Palestinian negotiators have walked away every time.
Israel would be content for the hostilities to Cease - Palestine wants the whole land without the Israelis and will not be content with any solution that leaves Israel either intact or defensible.

Veronica, to answer your question let me ask you, why did congress pass the 19 Amendment?
Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. The issue with the Palestinian is far greater, are you willing to give up your rights and the rights of all American Women to vote? All these things are related and lead to change but change is good, unless you want to give up your rights and the rights of all American Women. People that oppose change will use any excuse to resist change because the reality of it is that the world as they know dies and another takes it place. Which bring me to a bigger issue why don't the politicians push for equal pay for women as it is for men and why don't we just arm the women of the Middle East and let them solve these problems on their own?

The better questions are why should there not be and why is Palestine an enemy of America?

Anyone that can't answer the questions I asked should not even comment because you have no idea what you are talking about.

Israel and Palestine came into being in 1948. The UN passed a two state solution to give both groups their own land. Israel agreed but Palestine and other countries that would be effected did not. The UN passed it anyway. So from that point on Israel is an occupying force, by claiming land without reaching an agreement. But it gets worse, the day after signing, Israel went to war with its neighbors and took more land displacing 700,000 Arabs and since then has taken more land. Now Palestine wants the land back that the UN RESOLUTION says is theirs. Netanyahu has stated that he does not recognize Palestine as a nation and wants the rest of the Palestinian land.

So why does Palestine hate us? For one reason, because we arm, support, and fund israel's occupation of Palestinian land. So Palestine has every right to be a country and if Netanyahu keeps denying peace talks and refuses to recognize the sovereignty of Palestine. America should withdraw it's support for Israel and help the UN ensure Palestine remains safe from Israel.

the UN should protect the sovereignty of Palestine just like it protects the sovereignty of Ukraine

my questions were why does Palestine not deserve to be a country. You didn't answer that. And why do they hate America. You didn't answer that either. And don't put words in my mouth I never said Palestinians have done no wrong. I stated the facts that went down when Israel was established and what Netanyahu just said a few days ago. I speak on reality and not some blind loyalty to a foreign country.

To answer both, the Palestinians should have their own land, but fear of out right killing among them has kept us meddling in their business and therefore keeping them from engaging in a dialogue. On 2019 the US will celebrate 100 years of the 19 Amendment history has proven that women have not done what men feared they would do. The same applies to the Palestinian and Israel issue. Here is food for thought the issue is not them but nature, the land and water is not enough to sustain all humans there, so nature has its laws which means either people cooperate and work together, or move or kill themselves. So if Americans truly want to help offer up some land to both these people, other wise we need to stop meddling and let them solve their own problems.

If I was president this is what I would do: tell Netanyahu to give back sll the land you took from Palestine or lose all American support. And he would agree because all of his surrounding countries are enemies and the only way they could exist is if we back them. This would also improve the opinion of Americans amongst Arabs in the middle east. Once he gives back the land I will tell the surrounding countries that any hostile act against Israel will be seen as an act of war and we will wipe them off the map. I would tell Netanyahu any hostile act by him will be seen as an act of war and he will lose all American support

The problem with that particular piece of land is that you have two extremely different groups of people that are both claiming it as their homeland. Both are willing to fight and die for that piece of land. Worse than that, both are willing to kill for that piece of land. Everyone wants to have a place to call home. Now why Mr. Obama is so concerned about it, the only one who can honestly answer that question is Mr. Obama himself. Unfortunately, he is a politcian, and politicians are not capable of being honest even with themselves.

The problem is that the land can not sustain so many humans and Mother Nature solves the problems by survival of the fittest. So either they work together or they kill each other, Mother Nature has laws that people do not accept.

Wow, I'm not getting into this one. It really opens the flood gates to "some" intelligent and thought provoking responses, but so far what I have seen is a lot of prejudices and stupidity in this type of subject matter.

Apparently, Bibi has changed his mind as of yesterday. As soon as he was re-elected. Now he says that if certain things changed, he would support a Palestinian State. which now puts him in line with POTUS and the State Dept. Weird how that works huh?

Hmmm, see that's where we would have to disagree, respectfully of course. I think he did a fantastic job speaking and the POTUS was aware, so no mess at all. Well, the POTUS is a mess. lol.

I'm a bit older and I seem to recall 2 democrats in congress involving themselves in foreign policy to the extent of contacting a Prime Minister. Ronald Reagan and the GOP were pretty upset, considered trying them under the Logan Act, and although I don't agree with President Obama, he won the election. If I were still serving, I'd respect the fact he's our President, regardless of my political views. Btw, my first ever vote was for Reagan.
